After suffering his second-straight loss to lightweight champ Frankie Edgar at UFC 118, former champ BJ Penn is looking to return to action as soon as possible and has already begun training for his next fight.
“I’m going to stick to what I said about being as active as I can,” Penn said on his official website. “We’re going to contact the UFC and get a fight as soon as possible. Luckily I didn’t get injured, so I’ve got no injuries. I can still build off the last camp.
I didn’t go out, I didn’t party or anything. I’m gonna jump in the gym tomorrow full blast and get back to training again.”
Prior to his back-to-back losses to Edgar, Penn (15-7-1) had won five of his last six fights, losing only to welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre while scoring title defenses over Kenny Florian and Diego Sanchez in 2009.
