I got blowed up ):
So today, we had some visitors in our constellation. Our alliance had an armor logistics gang on the field, and a good armor ship is something I do not have. So I brought my Drake out to play....
I saw flashes of yellow, then red, and then I was left floating in my pod in the cold void of space. Moral of the story, don't bring a shield buffer fit when all your friends are armor reppers. 48 mil down the drain, no big deal. But it still sucks losing one of your favorite ships.

More EVE Stuff
So, I fly a Tengu on both of my characters. For those that might not know, it's a Tech III Strategic Cruiser. I'm in them for about 1.4b isk combined, a bit on the expensive side and I would be a little bit angry if I happened to lose one in a stupid manner.
If you play, and are currently on the fence about a T3 ship, just buy one! They're a huge improvement over everything I've flown so far for NPC killing. I'm too scared to fit one for PVP, but they're my weapon of choice when it comes to grinding for another PVP ship.
http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/34086-Tengu-PvE-Minimum-Spec.html#loadout This is the fit I use, it's awesome. I'm currently in the process of swapping stuff out for more expensive faction gear, but that's a slow process.

Unemployment
Well, two weeks ago I put my notice in at my current job. Tomorrow is my last day and I'm both happy and incredibly worried about my future unemployment. It wasn't a fabulous job by any stretch of the imagination, but it was a paycheque.
Oh well, I might as well enjoy the time off right? (:

A Cigar I Like
Construction Notes
The Cameroon wrapper on this cigar looks a little drab at first, but I’ve noticed that it changes quite a bit once lit, this wrapper must be really sensitive to heat. A minute or two after lighting oils come to the surface and the wrapper shines.
The color is consistent and there is the occasional glue smear. The roll is firm and regular, and the draw is just right. Occasionally a cigar with this type of foot will offer resistance until the burn reaches the main body of the stick, but I haven’t encountered this problem with the Short Story.
The perfecto “nipple” makes this an extremely easy cigar to light. One match is usually all it takes. The burn can be a little uneven until the cinder has reached the main shank of the cigar, but from that point it evens out. The ash is firm — with any luck you won’t need to ash this cigar but once, if at all.
Tasting Notes
The Short Story is surprisingly complex for such a small cigar. It opens up with a strong sweet cedar flavor and a touch of mint, the hallmark of Cameroon wrapper. The smoke is medium to full in texture with a spicy tang.
After a few more puffs the flavor gets earthier and there is a touch of black pepper on the tongue. This is a medium bodied cigar in terms of both smoke density and power, but it has a lot of character. The aroma is a bit piney — sweet and spicy.
The finish grows a little bit toward the end, the aroma weakens somewhat, and the flavors muddy slightly. And then it’s done. That’s the only problem with this cigar, it’s over way too soon.

Knives
So aside from playing video games, working part time, going to school full time, smoking cigars, working on cars, I also like to collect knives.
My latest purchase is a Spyderco Manix 2. It's a bit of a heavy sucker and the stainless steel liners under the G10 handle slabs certainly don't help. It's my second knife with 154cm blade steel, and I'm a big fan. It holds an edge beautifully, but diamond stones are a must if you want to sharpen the edge without taking forever.

EVE Online
I've been playing this game for the last three years now and I can't seem to get enough. I currently run two accounts, my main is in some 0.0 alliance while my alt is currently running level 4s in Caldari space.

BioLite Camp Stove
This little camp stove is a product I've been quite excited about since I first learned about it. While there are other wood gas camp stoves available, many of them require a battery pack. The video appears to be of an early pre-production model, as the website now advertises the ability to charge a cell-phone or flashlight with the thermoelectric fan module.

Kansai All-Stars
I remember being blown away by the 2009 video, something like a 20 car tandem run. This years offering is just as nuts. Watch it, leave a comment, whatever.
BeatingInertia's Protips:
*This is borrowed from the blog http:/beatinginertia.blogspot.com, I hope I don't offend the OP, but it needs to be spread around!
Whilst keeping up with all of you, here are some tips to make the blogging experience move faster and also make life easier for me:
1. Remove captcha from your blog comments. In your Dashboard, go to the Settings tab>>Comments>>Settings>>Show word verification for comments? Select No. Though captcha deters the unwelcome spammer, it just makes life easier for most of us.
2. Put your blog's web address in your Google profile links. Also, you can put your blog's web address in your Homepage URL section of your Blogger profile. When you comment on my blog, I can click on your username and go to your Blogger profile where I can conveniently click on your blog to see what you've been up to and show you some love.
4. When you visit my blog and like what you see, please post a comment. I have captcha turned off to make it easy. Those who comment tell me who are the more active supporters/followers. When I make my daily rounds, I start off by looking at the comments of my most recent posting.

This changes everything!!!!!
The iPod nano has been completely redesigned. The new version is almost half the size and weight of the previous version, and new touch controls let users navigate through their playlist simply by tapping or swiping the screen with a finger. It also features a sleek, aluminum and glass casing with a built-in clip. Of course you lose out on the option for video playback and it's really just a higher-capacity shuffle.
"This is the biggest reinvention of the iPod nano since its debut in 2005, and we think users are going to love it," said Jobs. Availability starts next week, with prices beginning at $149 for the 8GB model, and $179 for the 16GB model.

iOS 4.1 Takes HDR
The most surprising nugget Apple's including in iOS 4.1 is the ability to take HDR photos. You've seen plenty of these before—photographs with vibrant, unreal colors—but what are they exactly?
They're photos...
You know, photographs. The HDR stands for "high dynamic range"—the range between the lightest and darkest areas of the image—and the idea is that they look more similar to what your eyeball sees than regular photographs.
...made of several photos...
HDR images are achieved by blending several photos with different exposures—usually at least over-exposed and one under-exposed—to make for a more dynamic scene. Jobs suggested that the iPhone and iPod Touch would be shooting real HDR photos, that is, a combination of a few shots snapped in rapid succession, as opposed to just some software approximation of HDR.
...that look kinda unreal but pretty awesome.
HDR photos have long been maligned as a gimmick, creating over-saturated circus shots. But on a smartphone they kinda make sense—tons of people use apps like Hipstamatic and Camera+ to jazz up their photos, and built-in HDR is bound to give iPhone shots a bit of extra punch.
Palio Cutter
After a couple long weeks of waiting, thanks to Canada Customs, I finally recieved my Palio cutter. Upon opening the nifty pouch it came with, I was shocked by the weight of the cutter. It looked and felt like regular ABS plastic (which I knew it wasn't) but in hand it felt much more substantial.
I wasted no time in opening the humidor and grabbing a cigar to test out my new purchase. The Palio clipped the head of the Hemingway Short Story with ease, an effortless clean cut with no tears to the delicate wrapper. The perfecto shape of these small cigars doesn't sit well in the ashtray I use, so I put the cutter's second feature to good use. The body is contoured in such a way where you can rest a cigar on top of it, which is just perfect if you want to keep your stogie out of a communal ashtray or just off the table.
Do yourself a favor and buy one of these, the somewhat high price had me hesitating at first, but it's worth every penny!
BJ Penn's Return?
After suffering his second-straight loss to lightweight champ Frankie Edgar at UFC 118, former champ BJ Penn is looking to return to action as soon as possible and has already begun training for his next fight.
“I’m going to stick to what I said about being as active as I can,” Penn said on his official website. “We’re going to contact the UFC and get a fight as soon as possible. Luckily I didn’t get injured, so I’ve got no injuries. I can still build off the last camp.
I didn’t go out, I didn’t party or anything. I’m gonna jump in the gym tomorrow full blast and get back to training again.”
Prior to his back-to-back losses to Edgar, Penn (15-7-1) had won five of his last six fights, losing only to welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre while scoring title defenses over Kenny Florian and Diego Sanchez in 2009.
